About Project:
Minnath Estates is a hotel stay located in the heart of Chennai, envisioned as a tranquil haven amidst the city’s vibrant rhythm. The client’s vision was rooted in one simple, yet powerful design philosophy—Minimalism. They desired interiors that embodied calm, clarity, and understated elegance while offering guests a sense of quiet luxury and thoughtful comfort. Our design approach began with a deep exploration of spatial purity. We focused on removing the non-essential—allowing architecture, materiality, and natural light to take centre stage. Every line, finish, and surface was selected for purpose and poise. The palette was composed of soft neutrals—warm whites, muted taupes, and natural wood tones—to create a serene and timeless atmosphere. Guest rooms were designed with clean-lined furniture, seamless storage solutions, and large windows that offered a connection to the outdoors. Subtle textures—linen upholstery, micro-cement walls, and brushed metal accents—brought tactile warmth without visual clutter. Lighting was kept soft and layered, using concealed strips and minimal pendants to craft a gentle ambiance. The common areas—reception, lounges, and corridors—were anchored by open, airy layouts with curated pauses: a quiet bench by a tall plant, a wall-mounted art piece with ample negative space, a shelf with a single sculptural object. Every element was intentional and restrained. Despite the simplicity, attention to detail was paramount. From handcrafted joinery to custom-designed signage, every touchpoint reflected a refined, thoughtful aesthetic. The client appreciated our ability to translate “less is more” into an experience of comfort and quiet sophistication. Minnath Estates now stands as a sanctuary of minimalism in the urban landscape—a place where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and feel restored. It’s not just a hotel; it’s an experience in stillness, simplicity, and subtle luxury.
